Why we’re on Instagram and your hotel should be too

Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms around today. In our increasingly mobile-driven world, visual media is overtaking the written (or posted) word as the forefront of social marketing.
Instagram provides you with the perfect chance to showcase beautiful visuals of your property and estate, or local destination. With trending hashtags for each day of the week it’s an easy platform for your hotel to get noticed and will encourage potential guests to discover more about you. Why not try including a few of these into your regular social posts (or create your own):
- #ManicureMonday for spa-led properties
- #TransformationTuesday for retreats and hideaways
- #TravelTuesday for destination hotels
- #WoofWednesday for dog friendly hotels
Millennials do a lot of research before they buy, so it’s vital that your hotel in the right places, such as Instagram, in order to connect with this audience.
Instagram also allows you to showcase your hotel’s more relaxed side through staff selfies and behind the scenes news (as long as this fits with your brand personality, of course). This will help your brand appear more accessible and authentic. It’s also a great way to break down the barriers and encourage potential guests to trust you before they’ve even visited.
